Lip Augmentation
What Is Lip Augmentation?
Lip Enhancement or Lip Augmentation is a cosmetic procedure which can be performed only by a Board-certified Plastic Surgeon that delivers attractive, plump and fuller lips.
Lip Augmentation is the perfect cosmetic procedure if your lips are too small, flat or drooping due to age. The lip augmentation procedure by Dr Siddharth Sakhiya results in voluminous lips that become an attractive feature of the patient’s face.
This cosmetic procedure is widely popular all across the globe. It is a minimally-invasive procedure that makes the patient look good and feel good about themselves in no time.
What Are The Different Types Of Lip Augmentation Methods?
There are different options for Lip Enhancement procedures.
The main reason Dr Siddharth Sakhiya’s Lip Enhancement procedure is minimally invasive is that it is based on using injectables.
Injectables are safe and do not require incisions, sutures etc. making them scarless.
Following are the two methods of Lip Augmentation at Celebre Aesthetics:
Fillers: Dermal Fillers are synthetic biocompatible materials that imitate bodily fat in your lips. Hyaluronic acid, Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, and Perlane are some of the most commonly injected fillers for fuller lips.
In the case of filler based lip enhancement, Dr Sakhiya will simply inject the dermal filler into the patient’s lips. This will make the lips fuller and plumper in no time. Filler based lip enhancement has zero downtime and is often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure” which means a patient can get lip fillers during their lunch hours and resume work immediately.
Fat Grafting: This involves extracting fat from the body using liposuction and injecting it into the patients’ lips. This makes the lips plumper and looks 100% natural.
In the fat grafting procedure, Dr Siddharth Sakhiya will extract fat from other parts of the body using liposuction. This fat is then collected, processed and injected into the patient’s lips in a particular way.
Many patients prefer fat grafting based lip enhancement for 2 main reasons:
- Bodily fat is a natural substance which will be accepted by the body without any allergic reaction.
- The results of Fat Grafting are permanent.A touch up session post procedure may be required, but other than that once a patient undergoes fat grafting, he/she can be confident that the new beautiful lips are going to last forever.
Both methods are safe and effective. Dr Siddharth Sakhiya will advise you on which method is most suitable for you after examining you.
Who Is An Ideal Candidate For Lip Augmentation?
Lip Augmentation is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that can be performed on patients who fit into the following criteria:
A person who is unhappy with the appearance of their lips and wants to enhance them
An overall healthy person.
Candidate has realistic expectations from the procedure
It is important to note here that the candidate could be either male or female since this procedure is gender-neutral. Dr Siddharth Sakhiya, the Board-certified Plastic, Cosmetic and Hair Transplant Surgeon of Celebre Aesthetics, Surat ensures that candidates who fit into the above-mentioned criteria are the only ones who undergo the procedure for their own safety.
What to Expect Before The Lip Enhancement Procedure?
Since Lip Augmentation is a minimally invasive procedure there aren’t too many preparations necessary before the procedure from the patient’s perspective. Dr Siddharth Sakhiya may ask you to undergo a couple of routine blood tests in order to establish basic parameters for the surgery.
But other than that, no special preparation is required from the patient’s side.
What Is The Recovery Process For Lip Augmentation Procedures?
Lip enhancement or lip augmentation procedures are minimally invasive procedures. Hence, their recovery process is simpler and almost pain-free.
In case of filler based lip enhancement, there is zero downtime. The patient can immediately resume work and other activities.
Similarly, for fat grafting lip enhancement, a couple of days is sufficient time to recover and get back in action.
After you undergo any type of lip augmentation, you will notice swelling and bruising around the lips. Dr Siddharth Sakhiya will prescribe a topical antibiotic and may also give you some oral medication. Regular use of ice packs will help in reducing the swelling. Generally, the swelling subsides within a week’s time.
What Are The Risks Associated With Lip Enhancement Procedures?
Even though Lip Enhancement is a straightforward cosmetic procedure, it does have risks. It is vital that as a patient you are aware of the risks, believes Dr Siddharth Sakhiya.
Following are the rare risks that may arise out of Lip Augmentation procedures:
Severe and prolonged swelling or bruising lasting one week to 10 days
Lip asymmetry ( parts of lips are different sizes)
Lumps and irregularities in the lips
Infection
Development of hematoma or seroma.
Injection into a blood vessel, causing tissue loss
Ulceration, scarring, or stiffening of the lip
Allergic reaction causing redness, swelling, or itching around the lips
Chances of patients actually suffering from these risks are very low because Dr Siddharth Sakhiya puts patient safety as a top priority on his action plan.
Lip Reduction

How Is Lip Reduction Surgery Performed At Celebre Aesthetics?
Dr Siddharth Sakhiya, the Board-certified Plastic, Cosmetic and Hair Transplant Surgeon of Celebre Aesthetics, Surat first creates markings around the lips.
The markings play a vital role since they decide what the final shape of the lips is going to look like. Then you will be administered with local anaesthesia.
He ensures that the patient feels no pain or discomfort throughout the procedures. Once the local anaesthesia sets in, Dr Sakhiya begins the lip reduction procedure.
Lip reduction surgery is an outpatient procedure which takes about 30-60 mins on an average.
First off, Dr Siddharth Sakhiya will make horizontal incisions on the inside of the lip/lips. He will gently remove the excess tissue, fat or even augmentation filler from the lips. The lips will be sculpted to look symmetrical and proportionate to the rest of the face.
Once the sculpting is done, the incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches. Since the incisions are taken from inside the mouth the visibility of scars is minimised by Dr Siddharth Sakhiya.
What To Expect During The Recovery From Lip Reduction?
Dr Siddharth Sakhiya, the Board-certified Plastic, Cosmetic Surgeon of Celebre Aesthetics, Surat explains that lip reduction surgery has a low downtime. Patients can resume their normal routine in 5-7 days.
After the surgery, during the recovery patients may experience mild pain and swelling for a week. Dr Sakhiya may prescribe the use of an ice pack or an anti-inflammatory tablet to help in the healing.
Keep your lips moisturised and hydrated during your recovery process. Other than that, there is no need to worry at all.
